A Comparison of HSAs, FSAs and HRAs

A Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) is a means of partnering with your employer concerning medical costs. When an HRA is established, your employer contributes funds to help cover your portion of medical expenses. HRA funds can be used to pay for deductibles, co-insurance and other items you otherwise would have to pay for out of your pocket.

Your employer is responsible for making contributions to the HRA at regular, designated intervals as part of your health care benefit. You are responsible for managing the account, and therefore are able to control how your health care dollars are spent.
