The OptumHealthTM Flu Shot Card gives employers a cost-effective way to encourage employees to stay healthy during flu season. This simple program provides employees with a convenient and effective wellness benefit.
How it works
There are no upfront costs to the program. OptumHealth will provide you with a promotional kit for each worksite and mail the cards to your employees.
Employees can redeem their cards for receive intramuscular flu vaccinations at more than 17,000 retail clinics. There is no cost to the employee—they simply provide the card to get a flu shot.
Employers pay only for cards that are used. Each month, OptumHealth will send an invoice for redeemed cards. After flu season ends, you’ll pay a final, nominal fee for any unused cards.

The Flu Shot Card is not health insurance and is not intended for use by anyone who, for medical reasons, should not receive the influenza vaccine. Each vaccination clinic is owned and operated by an independent company that is not affiliated with OptumHealth. OptumHealth does not employ any health care professionals or exercise any control over the provision of vaccinations at these clinics. Card may be redeemed for one intramuscular flu injection only.
